One of the leading ensembles in Pakistan, Hamza Akram Qawwal and Brothers, bring the ancient, high-energy qawwali tradition to Roulette on April 11. 

French band Caravan Palace plays a style of music known as electro-swing - equal parts 1930s-style gypsy jazz and 21st century electronic pop. They play April 11 at Brooklyn Steel.

From New Zealand, the Aotearoa singer/songwriter Marlon Williams’(Kāi Tahu, Ngāi Tai) plays at National Sawdust on April 10 and Fire Talk Records on April 11. 

Scottish piper Brìghde Chaimbeul; the NYC-based duo of Cleek Schrey (fiddle) & Nora Brown (banjo); and violinist Laura Ortman play as a triple bill at Pioneer Works on April 8.

UK-based duo Immersion (Colin Newman & Malka Spigel) perform in collaboration with ambient country masters SUSS at Joe's Pub on April 4.

Nigerian musician, singer, and songwriter Seun Kuti, is the youngest son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, and leader of his father’s Egypt 80 band. They play at the Blue Note, April 3-6.

Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino are from Southern Italy and sing in both the Greco/Griko dialect which has Greek words in it, and the Salentino dialect. They play at DROM on April 2.

The Weather Station, aka Canadian singer/songwriter Tamara Lindeman, crafts character sketches and confessional songs. She plays April 1 at Bowery Ballroom, and April 2 in Brooklyn.
