Listener Special: Amelia
It is 1:29 here. I cannot sleep.
One. Crashing my car.
Two. Getting stranded.
Three. People bullying my younger sibling.
Four. That we cannot save our environment from ourselves. I've actually gone through kind of, like, several panics that we've just, like, destroyed ourselves slowly and there's nothing that can be done just because we're apathetic, and just because, like, all the different parts and components that go into climate change and pollution, and, like, how politicized and consumer-based at all is. It's such a spiral.
Five. That I have accidentally ruined my life unknowingly. Isn’t that horrible? Like, five years in the future I'm like, “If only I had taken that one math class at this time instead of that time, and now my whole life is ruined!” I just think about that a lot. Like, how every action can impact your future, maybe devastatingly so.
Six. Things grabbing me while I'm in bed. That's another weird one. After watching horror movies, I don't touch the floor at all. I'm just scared that if I put my feet on the floor something's going to grab me from under my bed.
Seven. Letting somebody drown.
Eight. Horses.
Nine. Revolving doors. If you’ve ever seen the movie Elf where he gets in the revolving doors and just keeps running around until he throws up. That terrifies me. Worst Nightmare.
Ten. Mobs and witch hunts. I'm just so afraid of the hysteria caused by that. That's just, well, how everybody can seem to lose their minds because that's what everybody else is doing.
My name is Amelia and these are 10 things that scare me.
