Susan Stein
Susan Stein is Monticello’s Senior Curator and Vice President of Museum Programs. For more than 20 years, she has studied and written about Jefferson and Monticello. Her main responsibility is the Curatorial department, whose staff researches the objects and lives of those associated with Monticello; determines the physical presentation of the house; studies, acquires, and cares for collections; and develops exhibitions. She is best known for the landmark The Worlds of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello exhibition and book (1993) and her work on the four exhibitions and film at the new Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center (2009).
