Deidre Depke
Deidre Depke is the executive producer of The Takeaway, where she is responsible for the show’s daily content and its relationship with stations and its co-owner PRX. She joined the show after serving as managing editor of Marketplace, the business and finance public radio program. Deidre began her journalism career at BusinessWeek. After nearly a decade, she moved to Newsweek to serve as the magazine’s foreign editor. In 2000, Deidre helped launch Newsweek.com, an early entrant in the digital news era. After a stint as general manager for TheWeek.com, Deidre took over The Daily Beast, working with Tina Brown to turn the site into the prominent voice in news and opinion it remains today.
