[MUSIC]
TOBIN: Kathy, can I get you to read this for me real quick?
KATHY: This season on Nancy...
TOBIN: No, I need bigger, I need excitement.
KATHY: Okay. THIS SEASON ON NANCY!
TOBIN: That’s my girl. Season two...
[MUSIC ENDS]
TOBIN: Here we go.
[SFX: FILM STARTING]
[MUSIC STARTS]
VOX 1: Yeah, it was my very first scene and the A.D. was like, “Okay Sarah, this is Kate. Kate, this is Sarah. And in this scene, Kate’s gonna be going down on you.”
[LAUGHING]
VOX 1: And I was like “Holy shit, what!”
[MUSIC CONTINUES]
VOX 2: They took me to this gay bar, and I didn’t know what was going on and I said, “There sure are a lot of men here!”
VOX 3: Yeah, we were walking down the trail, and then we were smoking like, “Yeah man, I’m transitioning, I felt man...” Like, “Wait, what?” And then he’s like, “Yeah, I’m a man. So I transitioned into a man, like changed my name and do testosterone shots…” And I just was like...
[MUSIC ENDS]
VOX 3: “I don’t know what’s in this weed bro.”
[LAUGHING]
VOX 3: “But okay.”
[MUSIC]
VOX 4: I was never going to make another silly joke. I was never going to pretend I didn’t hear the gay slurs.
[MUSIC CHANGES]
VOX 5: We were one part of a little budding gaggle of gays at the Pentagon.
VOX 6: I like exercising naked.
KATHY: You’re talking like butt naked?
VOX 6: Like butt naked.
KATHY: Wow.
[MUSIC ENDS]
VOX 7: There’s an old song from, from back in the 60s, “Going to the chapel and you’re…”
[MUSIC STARTS]
VOX 8: I think labels do matter, especially if you’re talking to a demographic that might not have heard from, like, a trans person before. They’ve only seen them as, like, a dead prostitute on, like, SVU or something.
[MUSIC CHANGES]
VOX 9: We talk about it as like, dropping the W bomb. You know, you’re dropping off the dry cleaning, “My wife will pick it up.” I didn’t think I’d ever use that word. And then I realized how powerful it was.
VOX 10: “I am Tyriel, Lord of the Fallen. And I see all!”
[MUSIC ENDS]
TOBIN: New episodes every week, starting this Sunday, August 20th.
